About Us
Mauna Kea Anaina Hou is a Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) organization comprised of cultural and lineal descendants, and traditional, spiritual and religious practitioners of the sacred traditions of Mauna Kea. We are an organization of Hawaiian cultural practitioners.
Our Work
Litigation
Mauna Kea Anaina Hou (MKAH) has litigated many cases protecting Mauna Kea in the past 25 years, many of which have been successful in stopping development on the sacred summits of this mountain.
Education
MKAH has done numerous talks and articles educating the Lāhui on the importance of Mauna Kea, why it is sacred, and why this mountain needs to be protected.
Positions
We have taken numerous positions over the past 2 1/2 decades on issues that arise around Mauna Kea that include development, conservation, and water.
